Welcome to a Secret Subject Swap. This week 10 brave bloggers picked a secret subject for someone else and were assigned a secret subject to interpret in their own style. Today we are all simultaneously divulging our topics and submitting our posts.
My subject is “What one personal accomplishment are you most proud of this past year?”. It was submitted by my friend Karen at BakingInATornado.com. Here goes:
Oh, this one is a tough one because I only made one resolution this year. I chose one word and I feel as if I achieved it. My word was “normalcy”. I just wanted a quiet, normal year after going through so much last year. I didn’t want to conquer the world or make lots of money although, that would be nice. I just wanted to lead a boring, normal life.
Last year we went through hell…two or three times! We moved twice in three months. I had my gallbladder removed and had a total hysterectomy. That’s A LOT for one year. This year I just wanted to enjoy our new home, enjoy my grandchildren, take care of momma and live my life.
There were still a few crazy times. My refrigerator going out after Hurricane Irma, a tornado blazing through the neighborhood and taking out our electric for days, my mom falling and cutting up her arm, and my grandson getting bit by a dog, but you know what. I can deal with all of that. That’s just life.
All in all, though it’s been just one day after the other and for that, I am so thankful. Here’s to another boring year in 2018!
