Welcome to a monthly Fly on the Wall group post. Today 7 bloggers are inviting you to catch a glimpse of what you’d see if you were a fly on the wall in our homes. Come on in and buzz around my house. At the end of my post, you’ll find links to this month’s other participants’ posts.
This is my very first post so take it easy on me!
If you were a fly at my house this month, well, you’d probably run for the hills! We had an unwanted visitor this month by the name of Irma. She came blowing in and took the electric on her way out. That we could deal with, we were prepared for darkness and GASP no Wifi! The only problem was the refrigerator decided to die and never regained consciousness. I thought it would be an easy fix, but NO! 8 LONG days later I’m happy to say we have refrigeration! We also have a gently used cooler for sale!
Now, you wouldn’t think that not having refrigeration for 8 LONG days wouldn’t be that bad, but try it with someone who has Alzheimer’s. The one change of going to the cooler instead of the refrigerator throws everything else out the window. Things such as:
- Finding her coffee filters thrown out the back door.
- Finding the coffee creamer in the pantry every half hour.
- Taking hubby’s K-cups opening them up and pouring them in a saucepan on the stove.
Don’t ask. There’s no rhyme or reason to most of it. It’s only later that I can follow the breadcrumbs that her brain throws out throughout the day and get a clear picture of the words behind the actions. It’s not always easy but…
If you were a fly on my wall you would have heard about my daughter being verbally attacked and physically threatened at a Walmart for accidentally bumping into a lady who apparently had some severe mental issues. When my daughter apologized the woman threaten to beat her up and then proceeded to call her every name in the book. After having to be walked to her car by security and returning home a nervous wreck her only comment was, “Mom! She called me a TRUMP supporter.”
If you were a fly on my wall you would hear laughing and crying (that would be me). We’ve been trying to wring every last second of Summer out before today! HAPPY FIRST DAY OF FALL! It should be a national holiday. My very favorite season! I’m looking forward to nights around the firepit and hay rides and THANKSGIVING! I am actually so impatient for Thanksgiving dinner I’m doing a dress rehearsal this Sunday. There’s nothing better than great food and family time…especially with these two!
