Welcome to a Secret Subject Swap. This week 11 brave bloggers picked a secret subject for someone else and were assigned a secret subject to interpret in their own style. Today we are all simultaneously divulging our topics and submitting our posts.
Your “Secret Subject” is:
What bucket list items have you completed, abandoned, or are you still working on?
It was submitted by friend Tamara at: http://thethreegerbers.blogspot.ch/
You know I looked at this when I first got it and said, “Oh! This is an EASY one!” and that was it! It totally, inexcusably slipped my mind! A lot of things have been doing that lately. It’s a bit scary, but I’m not going to blame it on Alzheimer’s although in a round about way it is. Nope, I’m going to blame it squarely on the shoulders of this crazy, chaotic life I seem to be
living surviving. My husband…okay, and my own lack of important brain cells.
But, here I am…late! I’m going to blame my husband because technically everything is always his fault. When my brand new clothes come out of the dryer smeared with permanent ink because someone forgot to take the Sharpie out of his pocket you guessed it. This time though it is a changing of the shifts, Summertime, and two irresistible little munchkins who now find themselves at grandma’s house most afternoons.
Add in a softball to the chest and a nasty family stomach bug and as of this morning, a swollen left eye and well, now maybe you see…just a little! INEXCUSABLE!
So to answer Tamara’s Question…
My Bucket List is actually a book because there are so many places I want to go and things that I want to see. I want to ride the London Eye, I want to walk the cliffs of Moher, I want to hike the Appalachian Trail, I want to dance under the lights of the Eiffel Tower, and I want to see the Northern Lights from a glass topped hotel in Finland. Those are just a few of the things that I long to do. One day…when my life finally belongs to me.
I always wanted to party like a Rock Star in Amsterdam or ride a Harley to Sturgis (No honey, your pick-up didn’t count), but I’ve given them up to the younger crowd. I absolutely avoid big crowds these days and by big crowds, I mean Walmart on a Saturday.
There are actually quite a few that I have accomplished. I’ve been to all 48 of the Continental States. I’ve camped in Yellowstone. I’ve been across the Golden Gate Bridge. I’ve seen the Statue of Liberty, The Grand Canyon, and Hoover Dam.
We’ve been to Olympic National Park, Glacier National Park, Smoky Mountain National Park, Acadia National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, Niagara Falls and the Outer Banks just to name a few of the places I’ve been to and the best of all each and every single trip was with my husband and best friend…you know, the one with the Sharpie!
